Brisbane International Speedway Announce 2010/11 Season Schedule
Jak posted Monday July 19, 2010.

The Titan Garages Brisbane International Speedway Promotional team of John and Kathy Kelly have pleasure in announcing their 2010/11 season schedule, a schedule that includes thirty-five nights of racing at the Archerfield raceway starting September 18 and running right through to June 2011.

Following two pre-season practice nights for all classes on September 4 and 11, the new season will open with a bang on September 18 with the traditional Monster Trucks and Fireworks Spectacular, the opening Round of the Sprintcar Track Championship and also Round 1 of the new Polar Ice Qld Midget Series featuring NZ Champion Michael Pickens.

As in previous seasons, the 410ci Winged Sprintcars feature regularly throughout the schedule and in addition to their Track Championship races, Sprintcar drivers will again have the opportunity to compete in a number of major events at Archerfield during the 2010/11 racing season.

The World Series Sprintcars Championship campaign kicks off at Brisbane International Speedway on November 20 and returns on January 7/8 for the Titan Garages Australian Sprintcar Open, with three-time and defending Open winner Donny Schatz locked in talks for another tilt at the $20,000 cheque for winning the fifty lap event. International Sprintcar Series events featuring USA drivers are scheduled for January 1 and 15, the second annual $10,000 to win Capalaba Wreckers Sprintcar Cup is scheduled for January 5 and the Tri-City Sprintcar Series will swing through Brisbane during Easter (April 23). In total, the 410ci Winged Sprintcars have twenty nights of racing at Archerfield during the coming season.

In a major boost for Midget racing in Qld, the Polar Ice Series will be contested over ten Rounds at Archerfield with three additional races on the schedule for the class. The Series is the first for the Midgets at Archerfield for a number of years and they will regularly feature on the same program as the Sprintcars, Super Sedans and V8 Dirt Modifieds throughout the season. The opening Round of the National Midget Series will be contested at Archerfield on October 23, a special Feature event will be held in conjunction with the Capalaba Wreckers Sprintcar Cup on January 5 and the Midgets will close out their Archerfield campaign with their annual fifty lap event on May 21.

In addition to the opening night spectacular, Monster Trucks shows are scheduled for November 6 (KC Fireworks presents South Pacific World Truck Finals; pre-purchase tickets through monstertrucksaustralia.com.au), January 1 and May 7 plus there's two Demolition Derbies (December 27/April 9), Car and Caravan Races (January 22/May 28), Jet Van shows and Fireworks throughout the season.

V8 Dirt Modifieds (six events) and Super Sedans (seven events) both return to BIS, with the National Super Sedan Series slated for a December 27 date for its one and only Round of the Series in Brisbane. The AMCA Nationals will compete at Archerfield a dozen times, including the AMCA 5000 event on October 30, while the emerging but rapidly growing Wingless Sprints division have eleven dates including a double header on January 14/15.

Regular support class racing throughout the season will feature ASCF Junior Sedans, Lightning Sprints, Limited Sprints, Compact Speedcars, Late Models, Stockcars and Track Championship events for Sigmas, BIS and Outlaw Sedans, Ford v Holden and Club Sedans.

The complete 2010/11 Titan Garages Brisbane International Speedway event schedule is now available on the Speedway's website at www.brisbanespeedway.com.au
